Retrograde Cardioplegia Cannulae CalMed Laboratories’ Retrograde Cardioplegia Cannulae are available in two different models: self-inflating or manually-inflating. The manual inflation model is made with wire-reinforced silicone tubing and a silicone balloon. The self-inflating version, consistency of PVC tubing bonded to a PVC balloon, is constructed with a tapered distal section that allows easier insertion and reduces exit pressure of the blood or cardioplegia solution. The balloon has a textured surface that adheres better to the vascular wall, thus increasing cannula retention within the coronary sinus. The balloon is affixed with a unique method that provides a smooth transition to the cannula body. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
